Last time around when we covered a Windows Phone browser, we emphasized to use Next Browser to normal Windows Phone users. We had an opportunity to test Next browser when it was in beta phase, and boy we are in love with it since then. We’ve been running it for quite a long time and it has already taken a place of default IE browser.

This is a nice wrapper app that comes with tons of added feature. Last time around, when we checked out, the developer had submitted the app for marketplace approval. It not only did pass the certification but it is now available in the marketplace at $1.99 (you may want wait for a while as the developer has slashed the price to $1.49).

It will give you all the benefits of default IE browser for Windows Phone. In addition, you’ll be able to use up to 10 tabs, telerik RadControls, change tile icons, switch between search provide and do much more. The most impressive feature of the browser is how easily you can switch between tabs by swiping left/right from the edges on the screen. Swiping down from the top will bring all the tabs in a nice fashion.

Features of Next Browser

  • Open up to 10 tabs rather than 6 default
  • Quickly switch between the tabs by swiping left to right or vice versa
  • Easily access all the tabs by swiping down
  • Uses Telerik RadControls
  • Pin tabs to start
  • Bookmarks the pages easily
  • Change default search provider (Bing and Google search engines are integrated)
  • Social sharing of pages
  • History

Next Browser is worthwhile application to have on your WP handset. Above all, the trial version has all the features of the paid version, it just adds an advertisement in the application. It definitely proves to be a good alternative of default IE9 browser. Overall, the Next browser is worth a shot if you’re looking for a decent alternative of IE browser. Those who are on unlocked Windows Phone might want to try IE+ browser instead.
