Nokia Lumia series handsets specifically Lumia 800 owners are suffering from frequent call drop and sudden battery drain issue. Nokia and Microsoft acknowledged that the persistent problem affects the experience of Lumia handset owners and promised a quick fix in near future.
Last week, MobileTechWorld received allegedly new firmware for testing purpose. Later, they admitted that the firmware indeed resolves many known issues along with the battery drain issue. Nokia sought to resolve battery issue with previous update but unfortunately it didn’t resolve the so called batterygate and call dropping issues. The new firmware build 1600.2487.8107.12070/ PR1.2 affirms that it will out Lumia users out of misery by providing several fixes.

The following issues have been fixed in new firmware
- Fast battery drain issue
- Lack of audio Bass while listening through handset
- Auto-white balance issue with camera
- Hardware button backlight is ON at all screen brightness
- Diagnostic app has been changed
- Focus Mode is now set to Normal by default in Camera app
- Few more unspecified fixes
There is no ETA known for the so called firmware. However, MobileTechWorld notes that the Nokia has promised to roll out PR 1.2 1600.2487.8107.12070 firmware update very soon.
