As per the reports, Nokia took over HTC to become #1 Windows Phone in just a quarter span. But the table could be turned in HTC’s favor in no time. Steve Jobs knew the importance of China in mobile market and did everything possible to leverage the advantage out of China market. With the highest number of subscribers in the world, China dominates the smartphone market.
Not only Apple but any mobile manufacturer understands the importance of China in boosting their sales figure and share price consequently. In an opening of first Chinese flagship store, HTC has started taking pre-order of HTC Titan. The phone is dubbed as HTC Triumph in China. HTC’s manager did mention his intention of launching first ever Chinese Windows Phone at MWC, except he couldn’t comment on the timing of the device.
But now with the launch of official flagship store in Beijing, the secret has been revealed. HTC Triumph will be pre-loaded with WP7.5 Tango OS. Integrated social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter will be replaced by likes of Sina Weibo, Tencent Weixin. The early rumors of Tango to power Asian handsets come to true with this launch.

HTC Triumph will be a high-end Windows Phone to be available in the China. It is available at ¥4,399 or about $700. With high-end Windows Phone hitting China so soon, it would be interesting to know the strategy of Nokia. With Nokia Lumia 610 and Lumia 900 international launch around the corner, China consumers would be eager to know the availability of these handsets in China.
We expect to get more nuggets of information on Tango OS and few other tidbits in near future. Will Nokia also launch Lumia series handset in China?
