Prominent homebrew developer Jaxbot from WindowsPhoneHacker has released yet another homebrew app called ‘WPH Tweaks’. With recent advancement in WP7 Root Tools, it is now possible to play safe with registry without messing your device. In the past, Jaxbot proved that why he is one step ahead of the other developers when he released WindowBreak project for Samsung users. This time around, he once again grabbed the opportunity to utilize options available in WP7 Root Tools.
In essence, WPH Tweaks lets you tweak system settings and edit registry settings from simple to understand UI. You heard it right! There is absolutely no need to dig deeper into registry system to tweak the setting according to your need. Call him lazy, smart or whatever you want, but WPH Tweaks will immensely help you without worrying what happens beneath the UI.
WPH Tweaks Options
Following tweaks have been baked into the new homebrew app.
System Settings
- Hide Clock (hides system clock)
- Dehydration Hack
- 32bit color
- Never timeout Option
Useful Toggles
- Access Media While Syncing
- Fake Xbox ‘Gold’
- Change phone’s voice
- Charge your phone wirelessly (not really, it will fool the OS)
- Change your OEM marketplace

There are certain limitations. Dehydration and never timeout option should be opted wisely or never use it at all. Fake Xbox Gold is pretty useful to fool Xbox live system and letting you send message to other members. However, other goodies will not be available. Even, changing OEMs to other doesn’t guarantee that every exclusive application will work on your device. The limitation is not because of the app, but because of lack of drivers. In all fairness, WPH Tweaks is a pretty decent tweak available for custom ROM users. It will also inspire other developers to bring more registry tweaks to incorporate in this application. It is one more reason to fall in love with homebrew community.
