UC Browser developers have updated their browser with the support for English language. The popular browser from China has been around in the WP marketplace for a while. Those who are unaware, UC Browser is amongst the most popular browser for Java and Symbian mobile device users in China. Mammoth 65% market share is evident of its supremacy in China market. Needless to say that China has the highest number of mobile subscribers and Internet users on the world.

Evidently, the browser instantly became popular in Asia (India and China) when it integrated tabbed menu and download manager in 2009. Back then, it was known as UCWeb browser, but later it was released for Android and iOS platform as well. For low-end smartphone segment mostly ruled by Opera mini browser, UC browser was a threat as it integrated heaps of features that Opera integrated lately(Do you remember modded versions of Opera mini and UC Browser?).

UC Browser 1.0 for WP was released in marketplace in November 2011, but it was supporting Chinese language only back then. Similar to Opera mini browser, UC Browser serves compressed data to the users by rendering the data from their own server. The version 1.0, with Chinese language support, has been around for several months now. The latest version 1.4 incorporates English language by default.

Our first encounter with UC Browser has been excellent. Although, we see lack of language support or see Sync option in Chinese, but we’re sure that in near future we will get the better version. Overall, it is worth a shot.
