Earlier last week, the release of Carbon for WP app ignited the huge debate on the best twitter app/clients available for Windows Phone. Searching marketplace will yield hundreds of applications, which inadvertently ends up in our inutile app collections. While Windows Phone marketplace is still raw and relatively new, it does have some very impressive apps for users.
Twitter needs no introduction. Inarguably, twitter is the best microblogging platform available to date. While 140 characters seems to be a bantam figure, it does serve in providing latest trending topics in almost all the field. Be it tech pundits, Internet marketers, fashion design, celebrities or bots, no one could save themselves from falling in love with Twitter.
Last year, Microsoft went one step ahead and integrated Twitter in WP OS. Although, the default twitter app was quite useful, the normal user has always been lured by third party clients, simply because they offer many more useful features than the native app does. Carbon for WP: Hailing from webOS platform, Carbon is arguably the most anticipated twitter client for Windows Phone. Keeping aside all the drama that happened in past several months, Carbon has finally landed in marketplace last week. It comes with multiple account support, URL shortening service, Custom URL shortening, Read it Later, Image Upload and plenty other features.
Quick reply, pin search, mention and other live tiles on your homescreen as well. Next version was set to appear on 15th February, but it hasn’t shown up in the marketplace yet. Next version will bring push notification, free trial and performance improvement.Carbon twitter app is available at $1.99 in marketplace.
Seesmic: When it comes to manage multiple social networking account, no app can beat Seesmic. In fact, Seesmic app is available on the major platform starting from PC to mobile platform like iOS. User can manage multiple social networking account from the single place. Track reply, mentions, direct message and almost anything from the application. You can also create a Live Tile all the above and pin it to homescreen for faster access.

Mehdoh: According to our option, Mehdoh is possibly the best twitter app for Windows Phone. Considering the number of features, Mehdoh easily outsmarts the other apps. The toast notification is notably the most useful feature for active twitter user. It not only support live tiles but also uses pop up toast notification to let you know your mentions on twitter.
Besides it does support image uploading, pin contacts, translations, Read it Later, tweet music you are listening to and other handful of features.
Rowi App: Are you craving for simple app without cluttered interface? Then welcome to the world of simplicity. Rowi comes with a simple and neat interface for serious tweeps. If you’re hankering for simple to the point features in your twitter client, then Rowi app is your cup of tea. The paid version which is available at $2.99 incorporates the features like toast notification of messages and mentions. It also removes ads from the application giving you the full control over the app. For believers of simplicity, Rowi is the only resort.
Phone Social+: While Carbon app, Mehdoh and other app seems to offer many features, Phone Social+ goes one step ahead brings something pleasant on the table. If you are one of those person, who usually like to listen to the tweets rather than reading, then Phone Social+ is the perfect companion for you.
Phone Social+ brings an unusual feature on Windows Phone. It quickly became one of my favorite application, but unfortunately it has not been updated from past several months. The trial version will also let you listen to the tweets, but if you are more keen on listening to all the tweets, then you can immediately purchase the app. However, we don’t recommend to buy it as it has not been updated from edges.

There are lot many useful twitter clients in the marketplace, but we feel that these five applications are far superior than other applications available in the marketplace. The real competition is between Rowi, Mehdoh and Carbon app.
