Earlier this week, we had a chance to play with free version of Pano app for Windows Phone. For casual photographer like me, Pano works well but with few hiccups. The free version only allows to take 3 shots which only covers 30-90 degree at the max making it not worthy companion for taking panoramic shots. Moreover, the stitching or merging time is colossal considering it has to stitch only 3 captures in free version. Imagine the amount of time it would take to merge 16 captures to combine them to develop panoramic image.
In a pursuit to find an alternative of Pano app, we stumbled upon on Auto Panorama app. This panorama app for Windows Phone leapfrogs Pano app by supporting use of flash, new, stop option and almost instant panoramic image development. Auto Panorama has a very simple and has integrated some of the necessary settings like transparency control, red eye reduction and flash on/off option.
Auto Panorama Features
- Quality stitching of images
- Great panoramic shots
- Simple user interface
- Option to stop taking panoramic shots any time

- Upload to Facebook
Tagged as free panorama app for Windows Phone, Auto Panorama is worthy alternative of Pano app. In fact, it is superior then Pano app in many ways. Next update will bring alignment aids, automatic picture taking, settings retained between users and few other improvements. Unlike the review posted on the marketplace, Auto Panorama performs pretty well. It seems that the app has evolved slowly over the period of time.
For photo fanatics or enthusiast, Auto Panorama is the must have app. It doesn’t offer image editing but it still is a good app to take panoramic shots from your Windows Phone.
